FLUECHEM ANNOUNCES A NEW AUS40 TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT SERVICE FOR NEW BUILD VESSELS

To support the growing requirement for the supply of AUS40 to new build vessels in China and South Korea, we have formed two strategic partnerships to provide a bespoke local service with experienced operators supported by Fluechem’s international technical team based in the UK.

Covering 75% of the global orderbook, the agreement is an important step in our growth as an AUS40 technical & operational specialist, with over 12 years’ experience in the AUS40 and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) industry.

By working closely with our group partners in China and South Korea and the vessel teams in the yards, means we can work dynamically and keep our finger on the pulse with all requirements, planning and support necessary for these regions and beyond.

How to stay compliant

The main ways to ensure you are compliant with Tier III NOx emission standards include:

  • Low pressure fuel gas engines
  • Exhaust gas recirculation
  • Scavenge air moisturising
  • Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) where urea or ammonia is injected in the exhaust gas before passing it through a unit, which consists of special catalyst layer where the chemical reaction between urea/ammonia and NOx in exhaust gases reduces NOx to N2 delivering >90% NOx reduction

SCRs are typically the most popular technique, and with growing public concern over ammonia transportation, transfer and storage, urea (AUS40) is the ideal, sustainable solution and that’s where we can support you.

Speaking about the launch of this new service Fluechem CEO, Niall Roberts, said:

“Fluechem has always been well positioned to offer a wide range of advisory services based on the breadth and depth of experience within the business. The addition of these strategic partnerships only goes to further strengthen or offering and, most importantly, or ability to help our customers.”

How we can help

We offer a robust service that allows us to scope all the relevant AUS40 technical and operational requirements to provide you with a technically robust and cost effective first fill of AUS40 which includes:

  • A review of the vessels SCR operating parameters and manual
  • Recommendation of a suitable, fully compliant AUS40 product
  • Proposed first-fill volume based on the vessel’s trading pattern and alternative cost-effective supply options
  • Procurement of the agreed AUS40 volume with a flexible delivery window
